In the system

Today I joined the system, as some like to call it; today I had my first official day at work. I will be working on HR a company in Tg.Mures. It was really nice "first day", it was a day that made me realize how time goes by and our lives change.

It’s strange how we like to play when we are little, how we like to pretend we are adults and we have different jobs but when we are adults we would like to be again kids and play, have no responsibilities and just live the days as they come, never worrying about the future because our parents are there.

Unfortunately or maybe luckily we can not turn back time we can just enjoy the present and plan the future. Now we can take our own decisions and work hard to reach our objectives.

As many others colleagues and friends I started a new beginning, hopefully a really nice one because I like the things that I will do (as far as I had the chance to analyze my job description).

Wishing all my friends great “beginnings”

Workaholic

A workaholic is a person who is addicted to work.

Am I a workaholic? Some say I am, I think I’m still searching for the right answer.

It’s not that I’m addicted to work, or I like working very much it’s just that I like to get involved into things, I like to be useful, to do something not just waste time in front of my TV, playing sudoku on the computer or going to Weekend.

For the first time in the last years a have holyday. I graduated and now I’m on holyday, no more meetings to attend, no more projects to get involved into, no more study. For me this is strange because I’m not used in doing nothing. After graduation I got involved in organizing a festival, it was great even if I didn’t have to do much, most of the things were already done, but still it was nice to know that for one week I had something planned every day, I had things to do, and most of all were things that I like doing, I like organizing, plus the people I worked with are great. But now that the festival is over I look into my agenda and I see just blank spaces, no more meetings, no more stuff to do.

Yesterday I was chair for a Big Picture in AIESEC. It was nice, I missed AIESEC, I missed attending LC meetings, finding out what they have done since I left the organization. Still one day here, one day there is not enough on my agenda :)

Some say “get a job” well I’m not in a hurry of doing that, I know that at the right time that will happen but until then I want to enjoy doing things that I like, getting involved in things that I love to do. I want to be surprised with opportunities that come ahead this summer.

In the end, I don't consider myself a workaholic, I'm just proactive :)

Another month

A great month is about to be over. A lot of things happened, some were good, some great, others not so good but this is life.

It all started with a great day spent in Saulia. It was a day full of fun, full of joy, of great moments, great feelings, great people. At first I didn't know for sure I will be able to go, but mountains that stay in your way can be moved if you believe. It was an amazing day and I hope I will have such days again this summer.

Another great moment was the Graduation Party. At first I was a little bit sad because we were only 4 persons from my group that went to the party; it was sad that after 4 years we were only 4 persons interested in spending time together. One thing that I know for sure is that this at least these 3 persons are now my friend and I will keep in contact with no matter were life takes us. The party turned out to be great, we had a lot of fun with colleagues from other groups and looking at the pictures I don’t regret, not even for a second, that I went.

An important event was last week, the final exam + the presentation of the final project, the one and only LICENTA. This turned out to be ok also. Have to admit I was a little bit scared at first, I was tired and stressed but in the end everything was ok. After 4 years of study now I finally finish a period of my life. On Friday I’ll have the Graduation at the University with my colleagues but also friends from AIESEC, that will graduate this year also.

A period of my life ended, another one will start soon

My place in this world

In my last post I was writing about the fact that I will graduate soon (there is only the final exam and graduation day left) but besides graduating there is something else getting to an end in my life, my AIESEC life.

12 days ago I became officially an AIESEC alumna at LPM in Sovata. It’s strange how an experience starts and ends almost in the same place. In October 2004 after I joined AIESEC I attended my first AIESEC conference (LTS) in Sovata, and now (after attending many any others … some in Sovata) my last conference (as AIESEC member) ends there. It was a nice moment to be there, to meet the new members, see some old friends and see my colleagues from the previous EBs. It was also nice last week to have the first involvement as an alumna and be the chair for NGO CafĂ©.

Still all this is like a bitter sweet taste. For the last years I knew where my place in this world was. It was in AIESEC, the place where I felt like home, where I enjoyed working, planning, spending time with friends. Now it’s over, and I’m searching for my place, I trying to take the best decisions in life, to go on the right path. Most probably I won’t find a place like AIESEC, a place where I can work, enjoy what I’m doing and also have fun with my friends. One thing I know for sure is that AIESEC Tg.Mures will be my ”home” when it comes to AIESEC, will be the place where I will go to see friends and remember good old times.

In major lines I know what I want to do in the future, I know where I want to work and I know how to reach my objectives but I want to leave place also for surprises. I want to let myself surprised by little things in my life, by little miracles that happen around me everyday (and which I didn’t see before), by friends and circumstances, by things that in the end of the day bring the smile on my face.

4 years getting to an end

Yesterday it was the last day of school, the last day of courses. I can not believe it. It’s amazing how time goes by so fast, 4 years have passed so quickly. It is like yesterday when I’ve finished high school, when each of my colleagues started his/her own way in life, when each one chose a university, a different town to spend the next years. Time has passed, we all have changed, took decisions, some got a job, some got married, some went abroad, we all tried to make our life better.

Now the process is repeating, different people but still colleagues. We were not so close but still there are things we discovered we have in common, still we managed to make some friends. We will be graduating soon and start our own way in life and this is a little bit scary, there will be no more “holidays” during the week because we are not in the mood to go to classes, no more breaks to relax and hope the teacher will forget to come back, no more negotiations with the teachers to give us an easy exam.

Yesterday I attended an interesting discussion mostly based on the fact that “today is the first day of the beginning of our life”, today is the day when we have to set our goals (if we didn’t so far) and start working hard and be perseverant to achieve them. Even if we finish university and say “I’ve done learning” the learning process just begins and it will continue every day until the end of our life.

In major lines I decided what I want to do and I just have to put things in practice. I’m thankful for the great years that passed, for the great experiences I’ve lived during university with my colleagues, in AIESEC, with my friends. Now I’m getting ready for the last days, for the last (but hardest) exams, for the future.

Life goes on

Time goes by very fast, I can not believe it’s already March; there are only few more months of school, only few more months of AIESEC. There are many days in which I’m not in the mood for studying and in those days I think about the past, about what I was doing at this time in the last years.

- 2005 I was in my first year of University, I was working for a project in AIESEC (Sales & Marketing School, I was preparing for being VP HR in AIESEC Tg.Mures, I was excited and ready to learn new things.

- 2006 I was preparing again for a new VP HR term (still in AIESEC Tg.Mures), I was preparing for Spring Recruitment, still excited and ready to learn and implement new things in the LC, make AIESEC Tg.Mures grow.

- 2007 I was finishing my VP HR term preparing the new VP, I was coaching a great team that was working for Personal Training Camp, I was getting ready to run for Regional Coach in AIESEC Romania.

And now, it’s 2008. My Regional Coach term is getting closer to its end (today I’m expecting to receive the applications of the people running for RC 0809), I’m getting ready to finish university, I’m thinking about the great moments I’ve had in the last years, not only in this period but during these whole years, since I started University, since I joined AIESEC.

It was the greatest period of my life and I’m a little bit sad it’s about to be over. But someone told me recently not to leave in the past. There are many good things and many great moments waiting for me. Life goes on.

I realize this is really true. Everything at one point turns into a memory, that is why we should try to catch the experiences and live them at their maximum every day, we should appreciate life and people around us more every day because it’s up to us if we make our memories be great or not.

Thankful for being blessed with great memories and great people around me

My 2008

A new years started (actually 18 days ago - looking at the time almost 19 - but this is not that important). This is my first post for 2008 and hope to be one of many others.

For the moment 2008 it's a year full of surprises, full of unknown. There are many things waiting for me this year, exams at the universities, the scary “licenta”, 4 more month of coaching in AIESEC and many decisions to take (decisions that I want to be the right ones). 2007 was a great year, I had the opportunity to experience new things, to make new friends and to learn a lot of things. I am full of hope and faith that this year will be at least as good as the last one, if not even better.

I am ready to face the challenges that will appear in my life. No matter where life will take me on its path I want to put passion in my work and never forget what's my dream and the most important things in my life.

Waiting for a great 2008

1 month, 4 great experiences

Time is running so fast, I can not believe it’s already December. The good thing is that at least there are great experiences you can live everyday and in the last month I can trully say I has the opportunity to live something great.

It all started with going to Olanesti to attend the Local Training Seminar of AIESEC Craiova. It was nice to see them again, to see the new members excited and eager to find new things about AIESEC, to see the old members preparing to take leadership opportunities J. It was great to talk to them and spend 4 days together.

Comming back home I choose to go also to the Local Training Seminar of AIESEC Tg. Mures & AIESEC Cluj in Sovata (or as we call it now Soo Vata) too spend some time with them also, to see old friends, to see the new generation of 3Some.

After fun comes work, and this time for me was work for a great project, for the first edition of Alumni&Partners Night, for the first celebration of 7 years of AIESEC Tg.Mures. It turned out to be a great project, with lots of guests and surprises, with lots of fun and great memories.

The last great event in November for me was going to National Preparation Seminar in Amara, the conference I always wanted to attend since I joined AIESEC 3 years ago. Now it finally happened and I had the opportunity to be facilitator for the conference for the newies agenda. It was nice working with a great team of facilitators for one week then helping the new members understand AIESEC better, have a great experience and in the end seeing AIESEC Craiova rewarded for Best Leadership Team. I am really happy and proud of them and hope they will also continue to have such great results and experiences.

A great month just passed, I feel blessed because great things happened lately in my life, hope the future will be also like this.

Still part of AIESEC

Remember my last post?
When I was feeling like an alumni?
Well that started to change. I decided to do more things in AIESEC and getting more involved. I attended a project organized by AIESEC TgMures (Learn IT) it's true here I was just a participant but still it was nice. Afterwards I was chair for 2 Big Pictures organized by AIESEC TgMures :) and participant at the third one :)
I also went to Craiova and helped them with the interviews for the new members. It was a great experience to see how other LCs organize their recruitment. Comming back I delivered one presentation and one training for the new members in TgMures, attended the best AIESEC party ever (organized for the new members) and started to work for a great event in AIESEC TgMures, Alumni&Partners Night.
This month is going to be full of AIESEC events and I hope it will be great. There is an LTS waiting for me in Olanesti with AIESEC Craiova where I'm preparing some trainings, then LTS for AIESEC TgMures and AIESEC Cluj where I hope I will be able to go at least for the weekend, Alumni&Partners Night and last but not least NPS (there conference I always wanted to attend and now I'm finally going to be there as facilitator)

There are great moments ahead, everything looks bright for the moment, hope the grey clouds will stay only on the sky and not in my life
Waiting for the future

Alumni Feeling

It's recruitment time in AIESEC but I'm not directly involved. It's a strange feeling. After being VP HR 2 years and organizing recruitments it's strange to step back and just watch or give inputs/feedback.

I still attend LC Meetings and go to trainings, but it's different not to organize them, not to be in front and just listen. There are so many things that have changed, they are growing and I'm happy to see them growing. Hope they will achieve all their goals and dreams.

Although I'm still in AIESEC a have an alumni feeling sometimes especially regarding AIESEC TGM because I'm not there every day like I used to. This week there was a really nice alumni meeting. There were a lot of alumni and members that came, it was a meeting of the generations with members starting from 2002. It was really nice to meet them all and talk about our experiences and how was AIESEC before. It was a great night. Hope we will continue having this meetings. Still the thought that I'm becoming an alumni is scary a little bit, I like AIESEC and I still want to get involved.

I want to enjoy every second that I spend in AIESEC, no matter if it's AIESEC TGM, AIESEC Craiova or other LC. I want to enjoy my AIESEC XP :)

ROCK ME a great experience

In my last weekend I attended a really nice conference ROCK ME.
The conference took place in Semenic (quite hard to reach but possible after taking 4 trains and a bus).I attended this kind of conference last year and I had some nice memories (the picture of AIESEC TGM on the community that we took at the seaside on the sand, the profile of the new member, me and Romeo fighting to go to a training, getting to know Bori better on the way to Bucharest and much more) still I had no big expectations regarding the conference this time.

But the conference proved to be great this year (at least for me). Starting with getting there where the first members I've seen were the EB members of AIESEC Craiova which I haven't seen since their LPM, then continuing with meeting old friends, the RCs and getting ready for the sessions because this time I was a facilitator. The whole time spent there was nice.

Still the moments I liked the most where:

Being coach for 2 LCs during the conference: AIESEC Craiova and AIESEC Tg.Mures, spending time with them, helping them set strategies, attending their delegation meetings, sharing impressions (for me this was really nice and I enjoyed every moment)

AIESEC Craiova on the stage, being rewarded for their performance. I was really happy to see them there. I was happy for them and especially for Cris (VP X) because I knew how much they worked this year and I knew how much this meant for them. Hope this award will motivate all the members to work and reach for results.

There were great moments in this conference, and in the end I’ve seen only happy faces and motivated members who went home full of enthusiasm to work harder. Hope we will keep the energy at least until the next conference :)

Happy and full of energy

Just 2 more days

There are just 2 more days left until I will finish my internship in Opportunity Microcredit Romania. Looking back it was a nice experience. I had the chance to work with great people. These are the kind of people that it will be nice to work with in the future. Also because OMRO is part of Opportunity International almost every week there was a foreigner comming into town. So it was interesting to stay in the same office with my boss (an american) and with his friend (from England) speaking different english accents, then meeting people from Albania, US and Italy.
Regarding the things I've learned there were a few. Because I did not have a clear job description I had the change to do a little bit of everything (HR & Marketing mostly) and see how a company works and mostly how it tries to transform into a bank. It was a nice environment that I will miss.
I'm glad I had this chance this summer.

Now I'm preparing for a new experience, this time in AIESEC, I'm preparing for a great conference ROCK ME. Can't wait to get there.

Planning Meeting and internship

Recently I went to Craiova. It was my first trip there. Craiova is a nice place, I really liked it except for the heat, but at this time is hot almost everywhere in Romania. It was nice seeing again the EB members of AIESEC Craiova, meeting some of the members and their trainees from England.
After staying in Craiova for 3 days we went to Cozia where they had the Local Planning Meeting. For me LPM is my favorite conference in AIESEC because there are all the members planning activities, creating new projects, sharing their ideas and having fun. This year for me it was a little bit different because I've experienced the conference form a different position, as coach, and my involvement was basically in coming up with feedback, ideas and support. But still it was nice and I liked it.
When the summer started I had no idea what I will be doing this summer but as the time passes by things are getting more clear. I had my first visit in Craiova and I'm keeping in contact with them on emails, and I started an internship at OMRO, a company in Tg.Mures. I just ended my first week there. I had the chance to see a little bit how is it to run a business and to work a little bit on HR because my supervisor was out of town. So far it was nice and interesting.

Can't wait to see what will happen next.

Traveling

This month seams to be great, so far at least. I traveled a little bit and it seams I will travel some more until the end of summer, it's true that only in Romania but it's ok because everywhere I go I meet great people and have a great time.
I started the month by going to Bucharest for the Regional Coaches preparation. There where two hot days but it was nice because with the Development team we planned our activities for this year, we meet with the old regional coaches that shared a little bit of their experience. There were two interesting things that happened that confirmed once again that the world is small. While I was in Bucharest 2 guys from Holland came, with the Ambassadors program, they knew the two girls from Holland that were in Mures last year at Peninsula.
Probably so far nothing interesting because in AIESEC things like this happen all the time (that's why it's an international organization and people from different countries know each other). On the way back from Bucharest in the maxi taxi there was a person that at first I thought I will never see again. It was a teacher of mine from the 9th grade. He lives now in Canada and came to Romania to spend his holiday. It was really nice seeing him again but also strange, because who would have thought I will see my teacher in that maxi taxi.
This week I went with my parents to my favorite place in Romania, to Fagaras Mountains. I was really nice driving on the Transfagarasan, seeing some snow, climbing the mountain and reaching its top. From there we went to Sambata, a monastery nearby. When we arrived there I was really surprised to see some familiar faces, the MC team of AIESEC RO where there having their teambuilding. Who would thought I will meet them there. One again the world is small (or at least Romania). Afterwards we went to Sinaia where we spend to nice days, far away from the heat.
Now I am preparing for a new "trip" to Craiova, where I will spend a week with a great team, working and planning stuff for AIESEC. Can't wait to get there to see them all.
Preparing for the way, hope it won't be that hot

Ending a chapter

There has been a while since I opened my account to post a new message on this blog. Why? I don’t know.

Anyway there have been many things that happened lately. I ended some chapters of my life, started new things. I just ended the 3rd year of university and started my summer holiday. I’m so happy that finally it’s here. I don't know for sure, for the first time in the last to years, what I will do this summer but I'm sure it will be great.

In May I said goodbye to my EB team from 06-07 at the Take Over Gala in Sovata. It was a nice moment to be in from of AIESEC Tirgu Mures for the last time as an EB team, to share our feelings, to see what this experience meant for each one of us. I liked that moment a lot because it was full of emotion and really touchy. I will never forget my colleagues, the moments we shared together for one year, this great experience that made me the person I am today.

Now I’m working with another team, it's a little bit different because there are many kilometers between us and we communicate mainly using the internet. This month I will spend one week with them and I’m really excited about that. I can’t wait to go in Craiova and see them.

I plan also to go to the mountains for a few days, relax, have fun and find something interesting to do after I get back in Mures.

Until then I’m preparing for 2 days of preparation in Bucharest that will help me this year make a great job as Regional Coach.

Preparing for the summer

Changes in my life

Once I wrote on my blog I have to take some decisions in my life. One of them was to apply for Regional Coach in AIESEC Romania. Well I did, and after a presentation in front of the LCPs of @ RO, after a long interview on the phone I was selected and now I am regional coach for AIESEC Craiova :)
Recently I was at the National Congress and I had the chance to meet the EB from AIESEC Craiova, the EB that I will work with this year. They are all great people and I hope we will have a great year together. I hope I will adjust myself to their way of work and we will make great things for the LC.
It was an interesting experience to be at NC for the third time but this time to be in a different position, to be a facilitator and help others take decisions not taking them for your area, for your LC. Even though I miss those times I know the EB took the best decisions for the LC and we will grow a lot this year, we will work hard and reach all our objectives.

Confident that this year will be a great one

Thankful

Today it’s Easter and I am really happy because Jesus, my redeemer is alive after He had died for me and for my sins. I am thankful for all the things He had done in my life, for all the opportunities that life has given me, for His protection over my life.

I know for sure that for Him nothing is impossible and He will do what's best for me and for my life.

Time goes by so fast

It is strange how time goes by so fast, I am sitting here and is 20th of January already. Almost one month ago we had Christmas and now we started a new year, a new year that I hope will be full of joy and happiness for everyone.
The exam session started and I'm not in the mood of studying at all. I am thinking about AIESEC, about my friends, about how many things happened last year about what will I do this year. There are so many things that happened in AIESEC in my last EB term,so many memories, now we are only one month away 'till the new EB will be selected. One period of my life is going to end and all of my feelings are mixed together,I'm happy I had the chance to work with so great people: Roxy, Marius, Emese, Bori, Romeo but I'm also sad because is the end (not of my life in AIESEC :) ) but of a great period. And because we have just a few months of working together I want to take the maximum out of them.
Also one thing that made me sad is the fact Vivi went back to Brazil. She will turn back to Europe but not in Romania :( We promised each other one day we will meet again and we will do our best to make this happen. The world is small and we can make it happen.

Now I'll go plan some things for next meetings in AIESEC and for this year, because there are many decisions that I have to take and I want to take the right ones.

Thinking, feeling, taking decisions

My last 2 months

Time goes by so fast, it's Decemeber and the end of year is coming. There are so many things that happened this year, and in the last 2 months. After members recruitment in AIESEC we had LTS a great conference with people from CJ and SB. We spend 6 great days in Sovata, working a lot but also having fun.
Then it was NPS, the national conference. Since I've joined AIESEC I wanted to attend this conference and this year more because it was so close. But things don't go exactly as we plann and I couldn't go. Some decisions are not always up to us. I managed to go for just one day, to pay them a visit, but this day was a memorable one, the day when our LC was rewarded for Most Progressive LC.

It was a great evening, I fell great just thinking about it, thinking about the moment when we were holding our hands and waiting for the announcement, thinking about the moment when we were in front and 500 people were looking at us, thinking about the delegation meeting when we are all happy and we were sharing our impressions, thinking about our work in the last year and about all the moments I had in AIESEC.

Coming home we had some interesting projects in the LC, that I really liked. I fellt great to see the new members working at the projects, in order for everything to be right. I remembered the moment I've joined @ and the my first project, when I was just like them, excited because I have tasks and stressed because I wanted everything to be perfect.

Beside AIESEC in this months I've meet some great people, with whom I have a lot of things in common. I managed to make some free time to go out with them and share my feelings, receive advices.

Because the new year is coming I am analysing my last year and I am trying to plan some things for the future. The are many things that are going to happen next year and I have to decide which opportunities I would take, where I would feel more confortable and what are the best things for me. I know we don't have full control on our lives and anything can happen but I want to take some decisions. Hope they would be the good ones.

Thinking about the future
